Maharashtra Ekikaran Samithi is gearing up for organising “Maha Melava” – a parallel people’s session of the Marathi linguistic community – on the first day of the winter session of the State legislature here on December 13 at the Vaccine Depot ground.
The city police are not taking any chances this time. They are putting in place security measures to avert and manage any law and order issue.
Police have given permission on certain conditions laid down and covid appropriate behavior will have to be followed.
From Sunday itself police have placed barricades near the ground and police vans have been posted near the venue.
It may be recalled here that the MES has been organizing Maha Melava at the Subhash Chandra Bose ground in Tilakwadi in the city ever since the State government started holding legislature sessions in 2006.
