Minister Govind Karjol inspects various works under Smart city

Various projects of the Belagavi Smart City project were reviewed by Govind Karjol, the minister in charge of the district on Thursday (Feb 24).

He visited C.B.T. various roads, the Integrated Command and Control Center, the Tilakwadi complex in lieu of Kalamandir and more.

Work on CBT had begun in 2018 and then N.O.C issues and pandemic delayed the work by a year.

Officials explained that the transport company is providing a commercial complex, a restaurant and other facilities.

Smart City Command Center view:

Minister Govind Karajol visited the Integrated Command and Control Center, which is being built under the Smart City Project.

The Command and Control Center was built at a cost of Rs 46 crore. Buses, ambulances and emergency services will be monitored on vehicles, Smart City Managing Director Dr Praveen Bagewadi said.

67 city transport buses have GPS, ten bus shelters, cameras and smart bus shelters in the city.

Smart City works to be completed by end of December:

Meanwhile, speaking to reporters, Minister Govinda Karajol said the smart city works have been delayed for two years due to heavy rainfall. He added that the work is scheduled to be completed by the end of December.

The work on 43.62 crore complex in place of Kalamandir in Tilakwadi and same has been delayed by a year. Minister instructed the officials to complete the work by next December, alleviating the legal implications of the project.
