Belagavi Member of Parliament Smt Mangal Suresh Angadi today in the Loksabha asked a question relating to the commencement of the Vande Bharat train and Pune Intercityfrom Belagavi.
She has asked –
whether any measures are being contemplated to commence the “Vande Bharat” Semi High Speed Train from Belagavi – Bangalore – Belagavi which has now commenced from Hubli to Bangalore instead;
Whether there are any plans to start Intercity/ Vande Bharat Express train from Belagavi to Pune and back, which has been the long pending demand of resident citizens?
Minister of Railways, communications and electronics & information technology Ashwini Vaishnaw replied,
15 pairs of train services are presently catering to the needs of the passengers of Belagavi-Bengaluru sector while 16 pairs are catering to the Belagavi-Pune sector.
Besides, introduction of trains including Vande Bharat trains, is an ongoing process over Indian Railways subject to operational feasibility, traffic demand, availability of resources, etc.
