Arvind Singh Chairman Airports Authority of India in a presser in New Delhi said the government has approved a policy to set up flying training organizations at six airports – Belagavi, Jalgaon, Khajuraho, Kalaburagi, Lilabari, and Salem.
The basic plan to establish flying schools at less utilized airports is to meet the demand for pilots in the country.
It may be recalled that, then Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Jayant Sinha who had visited Belagavi in 2018 had suggested having flying clubs/ academies at the Belagavi airport so as to give diverse employment opportunities to the thousands of engineering and medical students studying at Belagavi to embark on a career in aviation.
The flying school operators would be selected through a competitive bidding process and international players too would be allowed to participate.
Kudos to Belagum aviation sector!!!
