Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has clarified that there will be no lockdown in the state, and neither will schools be shut all over again.
The CM has appealed to citizens of the state to strictly follow Covid guidelines like wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.
The Government has however banned protest and rallies for a fortnight.
It was feared that Karnataka would follow in the footsteps of neighbouring Maharashtra, which has imposed a lockdown in some of its worst-affected districts and is even mulling a lockdown in the country’s commercial capital of Mumbai. Madhya Pradesh too has imposed a Sunday lockdown in some badly-affected districts.
