A 72-year-old man who had returned from Bengaluru on the 17th of June passed away today at the BIMS hospital and he tested positive.
He resided at Goods shed road near Swaroop theater.
He showed symptoms from June 21 and then got himself treated at a private clinic in Shahpur and was admitted in BIMS on Tuesday with complaints of breathlessness.
His swab was taken this morning but he passed away before the reports arrived which was COVID positive.
Around 9 family members have been quarantined and their swabs taken also those in the private clinic have been quarantined.
With this death, the total number of COVID deaths in Belagavi district stands at 3.
