The police in Belagavi District have been on their toes ever since the Drug scandals are coming to the fore in Mumbai and later in Bengaluru film industry.
The district police have apprehended around 20 persons involved in storage and selling of Drugs of various nature and narcotic substances around 150 kgs have been seized.
10 cases have been registered at Nippani, Kudachi, Bailhongal, Khanapur and Chikkodi police stations in respect of the same.
On 07/09/2020 Aayaz Sharif Saudagar, Age 33 years Rukmini Nagar Belagavi, Areep Ibrahim Mullah Age 26 years old, Belagavi, NAIKAWADI 37 years, Ashoka Nagar Belagavi, Imran Kasseem Mulla, age 33 years, Shivajinagar Belagaviwere arrested from Jamboti and 2.1kg of Marijuana was recovered.
The city of Belagavi is also not aloof from the drug menace and there have been many instances in the past where drug peddlers have been arrested from various locations of the city.
