The Union Government in 2019 had refused to regularise the grant of forest land to Rani Channamma University (RCU) and hence the RCU has now been forced to move out of its present location at Bhutramanhatti next to NH 4.
Now as per the Video shared by former MLA Sanjay Patil, RCU will be shifted to Hire Bagewadi.
The villagers have accorded for giving land for the university.
The State government sanctioned forest land to the off-site campus of the university in 1990. But the Union government has refused to regularise the transfer.
In 2018, the Centre issued an ultimatum to the State government to shift the campus outside the forest area.
