Shri Ram Nath Kovind, The President of the Republic of India will be visiting Belagavi on September 15 to participate in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Karnataka Law Society.
Today a preparatory meet was held in this regard at the DC office, and clear instructions were laid down as to who will take care of what.
The Karnataka Law Society is celebrating its Platinum Jubilee this year and for the same, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, The President of the Republic of India, cChiefJustice of India, Governor, Chief Minister, Senior Counsels in the high court, ministers and around 4000-5000 other members will be part of this function which will be held on the Gogte College of Commerce grounds on 15, September from 3 PM to 5 PM.
The deputy commissioner instructed that all roads leading from the Airport to the venue must be repaired and made motor-able and asked the PWD, corporation to act on the same immediately.
Protocol officers, PWD will looks after the stage and other arrangements and the police security will be beefed up as this involves VVIP security.
Hope the dreaded Congress Road gets a face lift now at least!

Roads must be in working condition at all times NOT only when the dignitaries arrive in Belgavi, ordinary people of Belgavi should have the same privileges.

Absolutely correct, we are paying tax then roads has to be constructed in a proper manner and guaranty of the same must be accessed by a common man. We in Belgaum/India having lot of patience. We never ask government or its representatives as to why such a bad quality is?.. If these people feels the pressure of public and answerable to us every now and then, then situation will improve drastically.
Also if any road accidents happens due to bad roads then we should file case against concerned authority and contractor.
At least in Belgaum we will take initiative and let rest of the India follow.
