Prohibitory orders imposed for Tipu Sultan Jayanti in Belagavi

In view of ensuing Tiupu sultan Jayanti, Section 144 IPC has been imposed in whole of Belagavi Taluka by the Commissioner of Police apprehending breach of peace and loss of life and public property, stated the Press release issued by Commissioner of Police Krishana Bhatta. 

The press note mentions that as there were protests against the celebration of the Tipu sultan Jayanti by BJP and other Hindu Organizations and to stop any breach of peace and loss of life and public property section 144 of the IPC has been imposed from 6 AM of Nov 10 to 6 am of Nov 11.

Section 144 was promulgated to maintain law and order in the district, as some organisations have declared their intention to oppose Tipu Jayanthi celebrations by the State government, the release added.
