A 21-year-old individual from Nandgad, Khanapur Taluka, Belagavi District Rachet Shivanand Turmuri, participated in the Bastille Day Parade, a highly esteemed event in France as part of the Indian Navy Contingent. This year’s parade has garnered significant attention due to the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rachet, currently employed as a Communication Officer in the Indian Navy, is being commended for his involvement in this prestigious tour of France.

The Bastille Day parade holds excellent significance in France as it is celebrated as a national day. This military parade, one of the oldest in the world, takes place annually on the 14th of July. The renowned Avenue des Champs-Élysées is the venue for this grand event, reminiscent of the Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations in India.

This year’s Bastille Day parade holds even greater importance as Prime Minister Narendra Modi graces the occasion as the chief guest.

Additionally, the Indian Army forces have also participated, further elevating the significance of this event. Among the participants, Rachet Shivanand Turmuri, a communication officer in the Navy stationed in Delhi, embarked on his journey to France on July 6th.

Rachet’s educational journey began at the Krantiveer Sangoli Rayanna School in Nandgad, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He then pursued his undergraduate studies at R.L.S Belagavi. Rachet successfully passed the Navy exam and joined the Navy in 2020. His exceptional performance led to his selection for the Republic Day parade in Delhi for three consecutive years. Therefore, it fills us with immense pride to announce that he has now been granted the opportunity to embark on a tour to France, as stated by his father, Shivanand Turmuri, who owns a grocery shop in the Nandgad market.
