The work on the 82-km stretch of national highway NH4A from Belagavi to the Goa border via Khanapur, Gunji and Ramnagar has already commenced but has not gained pace due to vehicular traffic.

On Wednesday the road towards Anmod from Ramnagar circle was totally closed and all vehicles were diverted.

The contractor Dilip buildcon got permission from the Deputy Commissioner to block the said road and from December 12, 2018 the said road which is part of NH4A Belagavi to Panjim has been closed at Ramnagar now.

Vehicles from Hubballi will now have to take the Yellapur – Karwar route .
The students from the nearby villages who come to Londa for studies will be affected.

LMV’s can take NH54 –Jamboti SH31- Chorla as alternative routes or the Belagavi-Chandagad-Amboli – Sawantwadi-Goa route.
However, the heavy vehicles will have to take the Amboli- Swantwadi route only. The time frame for the upgradation may take upto 24 months. Work has already commenced near Desur.
