Abhay Patil, MLA Belagavi South yesterday presented a proposal at the council meeting of City Corporation of Belagavi regarding statue installation of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji at Shri Basveshwar Circle, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Marg and Statue of Veer Sambhaji Maharaj at Veer Sambhaji Chowk Angol.
Abhay Patil said, this was a very long demand of the residents of Belagavi and I am happy to let you all know that City Corporation has unanimously accepted my proposal and respected the feelings of Belgaumites. The statue work will begin shortly and the installation is expected to be completed within 18 months.
Also statue of Maharshi Valmiki at Maharshi Circle near Jinabkul at Bauxite road would be installed.
Currently, not many circles in the city adorn statues in the circle other than Rani Chennamma circle and the recently put up Gandhi Statue near Hindalga road.

Status of these personalities will certainly add to the aesthetics of any place. But, the functional infrastructure in the city needs more attention.
First make the city beautiful and clean then install the statue of these great personality .
Statue… can be installed if the city is best by all means..when people cnt get basic needs like Road and water and cnt keep city clean … how does these elected people and the dumb corporation agree to give money… God save our Nation..
Didn’t vote you for this purpose… Voted you to make our city clean and I had that will get good roads in my area but you are failing to live up to our expectations.. what a shame…
