Member of Parliament Belagavi today asked a Question in the Loksabha
(a) the number of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) sanctioned in the Belagavi Lok Sabha Constituency so far; and (b) the current status of the on-going second lane work of the ROB being constructed in lieu of LC No. 381(Third Gate) in Belagavi City and the reasons why the process of ongoing construction work has been stalled?
In reply to the same, MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW has replied –
(a): Presently, there are total 06 Nos. sanctioned works of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) falling in the Belagavi Lok Sabha area, which is at different stages of planning , tendering & execution.
(b): The work of ROB (Road Over Bridge) is sanctioned in lieu of LC No: 381 in Belagavi City on cost sharing basis. This is a 4- lane ROB planned to be constructed in two stages, being executed by Railway on single entity basis.
The first two lane of ROB was commissioned on 12.10.2022. The work of construction of approach towards Belagavi side of another 2- lane ROB has been taken up.
However the work of construction of approach towards khanapur side of another 2- lane of ROB has been stopped as per advice of State Govt. State Govt. has proposed to modify the already approved General arrangement drawing (GAD). Feasibility report of modified GAD has been taken up.
