The Belagavi district administration has asked all those who have a license to keep guns to deposit them with their respective police station ahead of the Loksabha polls.
Deputy CommissionerMG Hiremath, who is also District Electoral Officer, has issued an order to this effect.
Those who possess guns have to deposit their arms at their respective jurisdictional police stations. However, security guards at banks, government offices and non-government institutes, can retain their guns on obtaining a relaxation from depositing the arms, by submitting relevant reasons to the police.Â
The ban will remain in force until the election process gets over.
