Vedike’s women’s wing protested against the BJP by showing black flags to chief minister B S Yeddyurappa while he was campaigning for Angadi at Khasbag. Vedike has been opposing Angadi’s candidature ever since he supported Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti and tried to hoist a saffron flag atop the new building of Belgaum City Corporation.
After the protests began a few leaders approached them silent then but when they still resisted the Police caught 8 of them. BSY promised to make Belgaum the second capital and once that is done Belgaumites would have no more reasons to complain, he added.
