Late Chaitra Nadgouda memorial All India Open Chess tournament on 26th and 27th October

 belgaum chessBELGAUM: The 2nd Late Chaitra Uday Nadgouda Memorial Belgaum Open All India Chess tournament will be held on 26th and 27th October at Varerkar Natya Sangh, near Herwadkar School, Tilakwadi Belgaum. The tournament is organized by Abhay Nadgouda. The tournament is being held in affiliation with Belgaum District Chess Association. The total prize money of the tournament is Rs 50,000/-.

 This tournament is being organized in the memory of Late Chaitra Nadgouda age 9 who was an excellent Chess player and won many prizes in the State Level Chess tournament in Under-7 and Under-8 categories. But her career in Chess was cut short as she died with her parents in a horrible car accident at Chittur.

 The Winner of the tournament will pocket an cash prize of Rs 10,000/- and attractive trophy, 2nd prize winner will get Rs 6,000/- and trophy, 3rd prize winner will get Rs 4,000/- cash and trophy, 4th prize winner will get Rs 3,000/-cash and trophy, 5th prize winner will receive Rs 2,500/- cash and trophy, 6th prize winner will get Rs 2000 in cash, 7th will get cash of Rs 1500/-, 8th will get cash prize of Rs 1300/-, 9th will get cash prize of Rs 1200/-, 10th will get cash prize of Rs 1100/- and 11th to 15th place finishers will get cash prizes of Rs 800/- each and 16th to 20th place finishers will receive Rs 600/- each.

 Best Women Chess player, Best Veteran Chess, Best Belgaum Chess Player and Best Unrated Chess Player will each receive Rs 1001/- cash and trophy. In the age group category of Under-9, 12, 14 and 16 the first place winner will get Rs 501/- cash and trophy, 2nd place winner will get Rs 301/- cash and trophy and the 3rd place winner will receive trophies.
