Laxman Kumbhar has been participating in Masters Swimming competitions from past 42 years and has won more than 225 National and State Medals.
His daily routine is to swim more than 3 k.m. apart from one hour of yoga and walking. Recently he has participated in the State Masters Swim Meet and has won 4 Gold Medals and he is selected for Nationals to be held at Vishakhapattanam in the month of October 2018.
He is retired RMS officer and happily living with his better half Smt. Leelavati. He always thanks his wife for the support and encouragement she has given for his sports activities. Both have decided to donate their bodies and eyes after their death to KLE’S Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & Medical Research Center, Belagavi.
He is a founder member of Swimmers Club Belgaum and encouraged by Mrs Manek Kapadia, Mrs Lata Kittur, Sudhir Kusane and Umesh Kalghatgi.
