Shridhar Malagi and Moin Junnedi to participate at 3rd Asian Para Games at Indonesia

International differently abled swimmers from Belagavi, Shridhar Malagi and Moin Junnedi have been selected in the Indian team to participate at the 3rd Asian Para Games to be held at Jakarta, Indonesia, between 6th-13th October 2018.

Based on their qualify timings, both the swimmers have made it possible to represent the Indian team for the above games.
Shridhar has already joined the Indian training camp undergoing at Sports Authority of India (SAI) from 15th of this month at Bangalore.

Shridhar swims with one arm and he will be participating in S-8 category in 50 Mtrs, 100 Mtrs, 400 Mtrs Freestyle, 100 Mtrs Backstroke, 100 Mtrs Breaststroke, 100 Mtrs Butterfly and 4X100 mtrs Freestyle Relay and 4X100 Mtrs Medley Relay. He is adopted by GO SPORTS FOUNDATION.

Moin a wonder boy in spite of having suffered more than 300 fractures in his body during the last 19 years will be participating in S-1 category in 50 Mtrs Freestyle and 50 Mtrs Backstroke.

Both the swimmers have already represented India twice and have won 4 International medals apart from 56 National medals.

Shridhar and Moin do their swimming practice at Suvarna JNMC Olympic size swimming pool and Rotary Corporation Swimming Pool in both the sessions under the able guidance of Shri. Umesh Kalghatgi, Shri. Prasad Tendolkar and Shri. Guruprasad Tangankar.

Both the swimmers are members of Swimmers Club Belgaum and Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum and highly been encouraged by Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Dr. Vivek Savoji, Dr V. K. Dabas, Rtn. Avinash Potdar, Shri S. R. Sindia Smt. Manek Kapadia, Smt Lata Kittur, Sudhir Kusane, and others.
